Since several of you have faced challenges completing Project 2, I’ve decided to introduce alternate grading options. You may select the option that best fits your situation, and I will finalize the grading method based on your collective preference.
Option 1:
No change to the rubric or the deadline
Option 2:
Deadline extended by 4 days.
Note: This extension will overlap with Homework 3, which will not have an extension.
Rubric remains unchanged.
Option 3:
Deadline remains the same.
No regrading opportunity (unlike Project 1).
Relaxed rubric with the following point allocation.
Test Case 1: (Green tick mark) 80% If you don't have the green tick mark, below is the structure for the partial credits.
Output is hardcoded/ code is not available in your GitHub: 0
Does not have the tick mark (code crashes): 10%
Does not have the tick mark (has a valid scoreboard implementation): 10%
Does not have the tick mark (simulation correct up to 60 lines in simulation.txt): 10%
Does not have the tick mark (simulation correct up to 120 lines in simulation.txt): 10%
Does not have the tick mark (simulation correct up to 180 lines in simulation.txt): 10%
Does not have the tick mark (simulation correct up to 240 lines in simulation.txt): 10%
Does not have the tick mark (simulation correct up to 300 lines in simulation.txt): 10%
Green tick mark: 10%
Test Case 2: (Green tick mark) 20%
Processor crashes/ Stuck in a loop : 0%
Simulation correct up to 60 lines in simulation.txt: 10%
Everything is correct: 10%
If you earn the green tick mark for both test cases, you will receive a bonus of +20 points added to your final exam score (capped at 100).
Examples:
If your final exam score is 65 → Final score = min(100, 65 + 20) = 85
If your final exam score is 91 → Final score = min(100, 91 + 20) = 100
Please mark your vote by the end of the day Wednesday (Nov 5; 11.59 PM)
What is your preferred option?
Option 1 (No change)
0%
Option 2 (Extend the deadline, no change to the rubric)
28%
Option 3 (Relaxed rubric, green tick for both tests will get 20 points for the final exam, no change in the deadline)
