Hi all, please may I start with thanking Greg for this incredible work.
Secondly, may I say I'm a mere musician, my brain isn't clever enough to work these things out though I'm usually OK at learning how to use things once they are set up.
I purchased a Meloaudio Midi Commander which had the Waveshare zero installed to use as a controller for a Tonex One, in April last year. I made some very small progress with the help of the lovely chap who did the install, then didn't really manage to integrate it into my setup at the time and just left it. My stupid brain then forgot what it was I'd done to get it working, so now I've got it back out and can't make head nor tail f it.
I wondered if I could politely ask on here for any pointers as to what is sure to be my user error please? A lot of the info on here seems to refer to wireless midi but this is wired, and I can't work it out, and the tonex.local address in the browser persistently cannot be reached.
So I have the Midi Commander plugged in to my PC via USB (USB-A out of the PC into USB-B on the Midi). Then there's a USB-C output on the midi that was added by the gent who installed it, which I have connected to the Tonex One (which is powered by a standard 9v psu) via a data cable
There are eight different "modes" on the Midi Commander, for various other bits of kit (Map up, Kemper, Axe fx etc), then two Custom modes which I assumed I should be using. I've loaded each of these in turn, and retried the tonex.local address that I thought I was supposed to use, and get the same "cannot reach this address" message. Chrome and Edge.
I've tried entering Setup mode (Only affects Custom 1 & 2 modes) and refreshing Chrome and Edge, but the same message.
I'm at my wits end and ready to just get rid of the thing and lose the money I spent on it, but it would be lovely to be able to understand it (and write my own "dummy" level instructions for my 5 year old brain.
Would anybody have any ideas that I should try please? Pretty please?
I'm sorry (and embarrassed) to be on the take without being able to offer anything in return.
Thanks
Matt
