Step 4: Install the RAM

Installing RAM correctly is essential for the stability and performance of your system. RAM slots are typically located next to the CPU on your motherboard. Depending on your motherboard, there may be one or more slots available.

Slot Configuration and Installation Recommendations:

Dual Channel (2 Slots): If your motherboard has two slots, it is recommended to install both RAM sticks to enable dual-channel mode, which will significantly improve your system's performance.

Four Slots (Dual Channel Configuration): If there are four RAM slots, use at least two slots to take advantage of dual-channel functionality. Always refer to your motherboard's manual to identify which slots should be used for dual-channel configuration to ensure optimal performance.

Installing the RAM:

Prepare the RAM Modules: Hold the RAM module by the edges to avoid damaging the delicate components. Align the notches on the bottom of the RAM module with the notches inside the slot.

Insert the RAM: Gently press the RAM module into the slot. Apply even pressure to ensure the module fits securely into place. You should hear a soft click when the RAM is properly seated.

Lock the RAM in Place: Once the RAM is aligned and seated, push down firmly until the locking levers on both sides snap into place, securing the module. If necessary, apply light, even pressure on the top of the RAM module to ensure it clicks into position.

After the RAM is securely installed, you are ready to proceed with Step 5.
