Summary
I'd love to see Codebuff available as either:
- A Visual Studio Code extension, or
- A dedicated IDE built on VS Code (similar to Cursor or Kiro).
Why
While the current terminal experience is powerful, many developers spend most of their time inside an IDE. Having Codebuff integrated directly into the editor would make it much easier to:
- Work without constantly switching between the terminal and the editor.
- Review and apply code changes with native diff views.
- Access project context directly from the editor.
- Use familiar IDE features such as debugging, extensions, Git integration, and keyboard shortcuts.
- Make Codebuff a more seamless part of the daily development workflow.
Possible Approaches
- Build a VS Code extension that communicates with the existing Codebuff backend.
- Alternatively, release a standalone IDE based on VS Code, similar to Cursor or Kiro, with Codebuff deeply integrated into the editing experience.
I think this would significantly improve developer productivity and could make Codebuff more competitive with AI-native coding tools while preserving its existing strengths.
Thanks for building an awesome product!
