Please confirm these before moving forward

  • I have searched for my issue and have not found a work-in-progress/duplicate/resolved issue.
  • I have tested that this issue has not been fixed in the latest (beta or stable) release.
  • I have checked the FAQ section for solutions.
  • This issue is about a bug (if it is not, please use the correct template).

UniGetUI Version 2026.2.7

Windows version, edition, and architecture

Microsoft Windows 11 Pro [version 10.0.26200.9168]

Describe your issue

As unigetui is using internal pinget.exe no winget.exe seems existing in the path. I tried reinstalling unigetui, reinstalling winget package... no resolution.
So i looked for the new winget.exe path: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.DesktopAppInstaller_1.29.290.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe
and fixed the path in engine properties in unigetui instead of pinget.exe.
Everything came back as before...
So i seek explanations and advices on the best way of maintaining winget engine:

  • Is pinget.exe needs configuration to stick to winget behaviour?
  • Do i need to keep using winget.exe as i started with?
  • What type of winget.exe is official, app or classic?
