Hey, so right now, it is not interoperable. However, looking at this now, it definitely could be, at least to some extent. We would need to write some kind of pipeline to convert the reproschema format into our own, internal format. I will give it some thought and see how much work this would be.

Thanks! I am also looking into a way to define tabular data schema in the most agnostic way and then deploy that as forms on ODC or reproschema-ui, or else. That schema would also be used by frictionless-ci https://repository.frictionlessdata.io / https://datapackage.org/ for continuous validation in the repo where data is stored, likely in BIDS-behavioral / PsychDS or alike standard structure. It is not clear to me what would be the best source schema format to convert to data capture platform specific ones, seems like datapackage could be an option.
I have seen that reproschema developed converters from RedCap and Loris forms for HBCD study too. Looping in @yibeichan ;)

Hi, as long as ODC is in a structured format (which looks like this), it can be converted to reproschema. I'm happy to help.

Okay that's great! Thanks @yibeichan. If it works for you, what I could do is generate a JSON schema of a subset of our form structure (for purely static forms, since conditional fields is a whole different beast) so you can have a look at the format and see what the conversion would entail. Let me know.

This is definitely possible. I will add some kind of documentation in JSON schema format, which should be interoperable with all languages, so people can write custom scripts to convert their form from any structure to ODC.

hi @joshunrau yes, JSON sounds good. Are you planning to use reproschema-ui for data collection? "conditional" can be wild, but reproschema does support it. We can talk more about it.

No, we are not planning to use it. Though, I am sure data collected through your platform could be ingested through the ODC API, if required.

I'll try and get the JSON schema up next week. Perhaps once you have a look at that we could discuss the conditional stuff.
