Seem to get the error "Joystick has 6 axes. Expected 27" when I try to run the Blinkt example. Using a PS3 paired to a Pi4, any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

That is interesting. The only PS3 wireless controllers I have to test with identify 27 axes in pygame. Most other controllers identify 4 or 6 depending on whether they have analogue triggers on the front or just on/off trigger buttons. The PS3 controller only has 6 axes in reality, but pygame reports 27 for my controllers so that is what my library checks for. You could change the index value on line 121 of the library from 27 to 6 (this line: AXES = (27,4,6,4,6) ) to get your controller working.

The PS3 controller has analog face buttons. And analog dpad (why??????) and analog L1/R1. So 4 + 4 + 2 = an extra 10 axes would be needed.
(I know this issue is ancient but I stumbled upon it so I will give you my input)

I wonder if pygame fixed a bug in how it sees PS3 controllers? I never used another PS3 controller after I wrote this in 2020, as they were such a pain to pair compared to PS4 controllers.
