This is an original workbench for creating text geometry (flat outlines, embossed 3D text, and text placed directly on a picked face). Built and tested on FreeCAD 1.1.1. It's a new addon and I'd welcome feedback during review.

Thanks for the submission. It's a bit duplicative of the Draft workbench's text tool, and the new Text tool in Sketcher coming out in 26.3, but considering that different people prefer different workflows I don't think that disqualifies it.

Your installation instructions seem to be hallucinated (Addon Manager does not have the feature described), but you'll need to rewrite that section once indexed anyway, so that's not a dealbreaker either.

A few small nits:

1. readme URL is a blob link -- .../blob/main/README.md renders as a GitHub HTML page in the Addon Manager. Prefer raw:
   https://raw.githubusercontent.com/seeker9969/TextWorkbench/main/README.md.
2. Version/date stale vs. the actual build -- package.xml has 1.0.0 / 2026-07-09, but VERSION.txt records a later 2026-07-18 build
   that removed code (NextFont/ChooseFont). Bump and to match the current state.
3. Two dead icon files -- Resources/icons/choose_font.svg and next_font.svg are no longer referenced.
4. Legacy root-level layout (InitGui.py at repo root vs. freecad/Mod/… namespace package) -- fully supported by the Addon Manager,
   just pointing out that this is the old layout and is not recommended for new addons. Not a blocker.
