[good first issue] Add dark-mode screenshots to README via <picture> tag

README.md and README_en.md currently embed light-mode screenshots only (assets/main.png, setting_*.png). For users browsing GitHub in dark mode, the page looks jarring.

Tasks

• Switch to Midnight or Cold Slate theme inside DreamCoder
• Take 4 screenshots that mirror the existing ones: main view, Computer Use settings, Provider settings, Skills settings
• Save them under assets/dark/ with matching filenames
• Update both READMEs to use:

sir i tired running the app i faced some major issues , i was trying to fix it but i couldnt so i stopped working on it

issues were

1. it was using too much ram like 12gb+ and i work on linux even tho i created a swap memory to run it but it was still freezing and i couldnt click anywhere on the app.
2. when the app opens it should ask which lang user prefer cause it was all chinese and i dont know chinese so changing lang after finding it in settings is an another hustle
3. There were some other issues too but i thinks it was cause my linux system broke some files so i think it was not an app issue

Hi @Kafkacodes — first, thank you for writing this up. Bug reports from a frustrated state are the hardest kind to write, and yours was clear, specific, and actionable. Don't apologize for stopping — you gave us exactly what we needed.

Honest disclosure: DreamCoder is currently developed and verified only on Windows x64. The code has #[cfg(target_os = "linux")] branches, and a Linux build should work, but the maintainer (me) doesn't run Linux day-to-day. So when you tried it, you were the first person ever to actually run DreamCoder on Linux and report back. Both issues you hit are real, and neither is your fault:

1. The 12 GB RAM freeze — opened as a critical bug

I've filed this as #25 — [bug:critical] Linux: app freezes with 12GB+ RAM usage during normal use. This is not GFI-scoped; it's a fundamental defect that blocks Linux entirely, and we'll treat it as P0. We'll need help from Linux users (potentially you, if you're up for it later) to repro and instrument it — there's a list of diagnostics in that issue.

2. The Chinese-only first-run UI — opened as a good first issue

That one is a clean fix. I've filed it as #26 — [good first issue] Detect system locale on first launch. If you ever come back to contribute, this would be a kind first PR — it's small, safe, and directly fixes the thing that frustrated you. No pressure.

About the original screenshot task (#8)

I'm releasing this from your assignment. It needs the app running locally, which is the wrong ask given the Linux state. I'll keep #8 open so it's available for someone on Windows or macOS who wants to grab it.

What we owe you

• Updates to the README and CONTRIBUTING that say plainly: "Currently tested on Windows; macOS and Linux are best-effort." So no future Linux contributor walks in blind. (Tracking this separately.)
• A real fix for the memory issue, when we have a confirmed reproduction.
