In order to have some basic rules as well as guide contributors on expected etiquette.

Hello, this was triggered by discussions in #1919 .

First suggestion:

Rules

• Disclose your use of AI tools: Transparency is in everyone’s best interest. If you did not disclose your tools and AI-related harm results from your merged contribution, you can be held liable. Details such as model and amount of use in the contribution helps trace liability to providers.
• Create an issue first in the case of improvements or adding of new features.

Basic Etiquette

• Be polite and assume good intentions.
• No spam: Avoid submitting a flood of PRs implementing small or unasked for changes.
• Don’t submit a significant change that was not requested or discussed. Open an issue first to allow people to agree to a new implementation.

Due Diligence

• Read and understand the changes you are making.
• Verify your modifications: Make sure they are secure and do not have unintended effects (e.g. accidentally remove a part of the website).
• Verify that your PR description encapsulates all changes.

PRs may immediately be rejected if

• they’re not well motivated or simply unnecessary.
• implement too many changes in one go, which could otherwise be broken down in digestible implementations.
• appear to be generated solely by AI with little or no human contributor oversight.
