Indeed, since Ubuntu 22 LTS is supported until 2027 and is widely used, I'll try to adapt the extension for GNOME 42.

After looking deeper into the migration details, I've realized that adapting the extension to GNOME 42 requires dealing with a lot of deprecated APIs and the old module system, which is completely incompatible with modern GNOME versions (45 up to 50+).

As I want to focus my limited time on keeping the extension updated for current and upcoming GNOME releases, I won't be able to backport it to GNOME 42 myself.

However, since the project is open-source, you are more than welcome to fork the repository and adapt the codebase for Ubuntu 22.04 LTS if you or anyone else in the community wants to take on that task.
