Hi Kevin,

It would be useful if the default homepage were not the page for adding files but an authentication page (such as the admin.php page), so that we could choose who can and cannot upload files to the server.

I don't know what you mean exactly. You wan't a different location for uploading and downloading, that the link is different or do you request a login form that only registered users can use? or do you mean just you as an admin can upload files and the download works for everyone?
Please explain further. :)

I'm currently working on a usermanagement in the admin.php, then you can activate a user login for uploading files. Maybe this will help your needs?
