From b97e814083180ef33d78a79a7727945a3c32c896 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Cristian Magherusan-Stanciu Date: Tue, 26 May 2026 01:37:46 +0200 Subject: [PATCH] chore(ci): guard against password handlers that skip base64-decode Adds TestBase64PasswordGuard and TestBase64PasswordGuard_SyntheticRegression to internal/api. The AST-based scanner parses every non-test source file in the package and fails CI if any function that (a) json.Unmarshals a request body and (b) reads a *.Password field does not also call decodeBase64Password or a known delegate helper (decodeChangePasswordRequest). The synthetic-regression sub-test embeds a deliberately bad handler that mirrors the #356 shape (reads .NewPassword without decoding) and asserts the scanner detects it, proving the guard is not vacuous. Closes #661, refs #357. --- internal/api/base64_password_guard_test.go | 281 +++++++++++++++++++++ 1 file changed, 281 insertions(+) create mode 100644 internal/api/base64_password_guard_test.go diff --git a/internal/api/base64_password_guard_test.go b/internal/api/base64_password_guard_test.go new file mode 100644 index 000000000..9e33f8552 --- /dev/null +++ b/internal/api/base64_password_guard_test.go @@ -0,0 +1,281 @@ +// Package api — CI guard for the base64-decode requirement on password-bearing +// handler functions. +// +// # Problem (regression class of #356) +// +// The frontend base64-encodes every password field before POST-ing to the API +// (see frontend/src/api/auth.ts).
