Part of #448

Problem

Stage 3C (#454) landed the xAI adapter, device-code UI, and file-backed session, but live SuperGrok qualification never ran. It needs a real SuperGrok account. Do not use a model-held credential.

Outcome

Operator-run evidence that:

  • Device-code login completes on Linux (and Windows if that host is in scope).
  • Tokens persist across Gateway restart and take effect on the next request without a stale cache.
  • Codex CLI text + tool lifecycle pass via Gateway → xAI OAuth (grok-4 or the current SuperGrok model).
  • 403 allowlist fallback to XAI_API_KEY still surfaces as designed.

Record sanitized artifacts (no tokens) on this issue.

Verification class

Strict plus Issue-required live provider evidence. Deterministic tests already cover the adapter; this ticket is the live qualification only.
