This should include generating a CHANGELOG summarizing the commit merged to main since last release and the authors contributing to them.

Use cargo-release, cargo-smart-release or release-plz to automate release process.

Manually running git tag and cargo publish

release-plz seems to have its own GH action ready to go. https://release-plz.dev/docs/github/quickstart
However, I don't see a way to add the commit authors to the generated changelog
