- Preserve Chat History After Updates
One thing I'd really like to see is chat history being preserved when updating DeepCode.
Right now, users may worry about losing conversations, project context, or previous sessions after installing a newer version.
DeepCode should automatically migrate and keep:
- Chat history
- Project memory
- deepcode.md files
- Agent settings
- Custom preferences
When updating, there should be a message like:
"Update completed successfully.
All chats, memories, and settings have been preserved."
This would make updates feel much safer and prevent users from worrying about losing important conversations or project context.
You could also make it more direct:
- Keep Chat History Between Updates
When installing a new version of DeepCode, chat history should stay intact. Losing previous conversations, project context, or memories after an update is frustrating and can slow down development.
Updates should automatically preserve:
- Chat history
- Project context
- Memories
- Settings
- deepcode.md files
This way users can update without worrying about losing their work.
