GSC clicks 61 81 −25%
GSC impressions 8,521 11,587 −26%

Avg position 10.54 9.80 −0.74

GA4 sessions fell by 69% (from 13 to 4) — well above the 30% threshold — on a page that was the site's #1 traffic driver last week. GSC clicks also fell 25%, so this isn't a pure GA4 tracking artifact: organic search traffic genuinely softened.

Hypothesis

The ~26% impression drop suggests reduced search demand or a slight ranking softening (pos 9.80 → 10.54, pushing the page closer to the page-2 boundary). Seasonal variation is possible, but the magnitude of the GA4 drop relative to the GSC click drop may also indicate referral or direct traffic dried up, or a GA4 tagging issue on the page.

Suggested action

  1. Verify GA4 tag is firing correctly on /tools/camelot (check Realtime / DebugView).
  2. In GSC, check if any manual action or coverage issue appeared for this URL this week.
  3. If tracking is healthy, audit the page for recent content or UX changes that may have reduced engagement-driven return visits.
  4. Monitor next week — if impressions continue sliding toward position 11+, prioritise a content refresh to defend the top-10 ranking.
