Longtable on twocolumn layout

Hello,
I'm working on a report where one of the table has to be placed on a twocolumn layout. It spans on multiple pages and pagebreaks must be somewhat automatic (or semiautomatic) since content is generated by a python script and may vary with time. I tried different solutions, like supertabular, unfortunately none of them seem to work properly, sounds weird to me there's no solution, apparently. Attached you'll find the final result I'd like to achieve. The blue line on the picture represents how the table must be filled.
Let me know if you get interested in developing some new features capable of handling the twocolumn problem.
