Keyboard problems with some Android apps:

• Microsoft SwiftKey
• Samsung keyboard
• FUTO keyboard
• Gboard with Android 16.0 is not affected

Another android keyboard issue is that, with Microsoft SwiftKey, it automatically capitalizes the first letter of each new sentence (or every time after you click enter). This could be disabled, yes, as it's a specific feature for this and other apps. But the Termux app (not termix) has somehow solved this for all keyboard apps I've tried. Perhaps there's an API call or flag to control the keyboard configuration in SSH mode.

Unsure if this is related, but I am using the external keyboard that comes with Samsung Galaxy Tabs and I cannot use the arrow keys or the backspace key

Just wanted to add another data point to this.

I have an off brand Bluetooth keyboard from Amazon that exhibits the same behavior. Arrow keys and backspace don't work making it unusable. Also the same on an Honor tablet with it's included keyboard case.

Trying it on my Samsung S8 Ultra tablet and included keyboard, the backspace key works, but not the arrow keys.

does anyone know how to copy paste in android app.
touch hold doesnt work not even paste in quick actions.

This is likely to do with the inputType being used.
The reason I didn't have issues in juiceSSH or Termux is because they appear to set inputType to something like textNoSuggestions

Hi everyone,

I'm not entirely sure if this is the right place to report this, but after the recent v2.3.1 app redesign on Android, the customizable keyboard line (the accessory bar containing arrows and special symbols) has completely disappeared.

I have looked through all the new menus but I can't seem to find how to enable it back. Am I missing a setting somewhere in the new UI, or is this feature currently missing/broken in this version?

Maintainer note - 2026-05-31

Audited current implementation against this known issue. I did not find a dedicated fix for Android IME behavior with Microsoft SwiftKey, Samsung Keyboard, or FUTO Keyboard. Existing keyboard handling is mostly terminal/browser shortcut handling, not Android IME-specific composition handling.

Keeping this open.
