MediaWiki 1.43 compatibility and new features

I was wondering if there will be a version of this extension that is compatible to MediaWiki 1.43 and if there is active development on this extension.

The BlueSpice team would like to take over the maintenance of this extension. Are there any objections from your side?

Are there other incompatibilities with MW 1.43? Miraheze is tracking an issue already. https://issue-tracker.miraheze.org/T13092.

For the record I somehow missed this issue existed. Could've fixed but it also takes a lot of work off my plate to not have to maintain this one anymore, which I do appreciate that. I will likely archive this extension tomorrow.

I'd like to know why this new compatible version requires BlueSpice extensions to function?
