Various performance improvements (like caching DEVNULL, compiling regexes once, pre-instantiating IP objects, caching attribute lookups, using thread pools with max_workers, and using `map()` for lazy evaluation) are already present and well documented. Since no further measurable and correct performance improvements were identified without sacrificing readability or making architectural changes, no modifications were made, adhering to the instruction to stop and not create a PR when no suitable optimization can be found.
