uv cannot install dependencies due to non-PEP 621 pyproject layout

When installing this project using uv, the installation fails because the pyproject.toml does not follow the PEP 621 metadata layout.

I have opened PR #15 that migrates the metadata to the PEP 621 format while keeping full compatibility with Poetry.

use PEP 621 toml

Uv can work correct now.

Hi,

Thanks for the issue and the commit, but when I tested it, I couldn't reproduce the same error that you had seen.

Tested with uv 0.9.24 & Python 3.11.10 on macOS:
• uv add apiexception and uv sync installs apiexception==0.2.1 from PyPI successfully.
• uv add "git+https://github.com/akutayural/APIException.git" and uv sync also works, uv builds the wheel and installs it successfully.

If you still see “No requires-python found in workspace” or similar warnings, please ensure you run uv in the project root containing pyproject.toml (or share the exact commands + directory structure).
