Do you need anthropic api key if using local lime via proxy?

This might be a dumb question but I am looking at the documentation to begin using this software and I cannot deduce the above in title. If it is self hosted, I am assuming we can use the local llm and not need api keys? Could you kindly confirm whether this is true or not?
