Reliable way to execute slash commands?

It seems like we aren't able to execute arbitrary slash commands. Is there a way that we can set this up in emacs and have the output of the slash command (if there is any, such as the output for /tree, which is selectable) render in some kind of buffer? Please feel free to pitch ideas to me as it is definitely an issue I can try to help solve!

The gist is that a lot of slash commands are available, it's just that /tree is kind of hard to support. Check #145 for reference which attempted to get proper RPC support into Pi itself to expose that feature.

That said, a "branch and optional summarise" feature that works similar to how forking works today, that is, directly from the chat buffer (try typing f anywhere), should be pretty easy to implement and something I was considering. Not sure about the full-fledged tree browser, though I really liked how the implementation felt like; there's a video here: earendil-works/pi#1762 (comment)

Thanks @dnouri, I appreciate your time! I'm very interested in including pi.el in the firemacs config, although I haven't yet done a thorough bout of testing, and I tested custom slash commands (which I couldn't seem to find, I have a move-session slash command that re-positions my current pi session to a new location in the filesystem), and the /tree, which ironically, I used a lot. Do you have any suggestions on working on the former? It seems that /tree might be a tricky one to pull-off, and I could spend some time looking into that to get compatibility working on that specific command...

@66-firebat It sounds like /move-session isn't being discovered? Is that a command registered by your own Pi extension? Does the transient menu C-p show any other commands?

Maybe the issue is related to the recently introduced trust model? There's been a fix in this package two weeks ago to trust by default.

Thanks for getting back to me @dnouri ! I will look into this. Based on the article, it seems like the trust mechanism works primarily for project-local settings. Give me a few days to test, but I'm definitely more eager to try the extension again, as the eat terminal seems to do an insane amount of "bouncing" and truncation after a few thousand lines of output, which is disorienting and constantly makes me lose point where the output is being delivered
