What
Confirm how we want to integrate popular art therapy metrics, the Koppitz system's emotional indicators (https://www.researchgate.net/file.PostFileLoader.html?id=594cba07dc332de1f026f70b&assetKey=AS%3A508304230227969%401498200580979), the Leuven Scale (http://www.magicnursery.co.uk/pdf_documents/LevelsofWellBeing.pdf) and SDQ (Strength & Difficulties Questionaire) (http://sdqinfo.org/) into DML, including integration of observational mental health 'themes' such as PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), violence, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), parental attachment, post-natal depression (young women), anger management etc.
How
- Read up on both the Koppitz system, Leuven Scale & SDQ and seek additional contacts if necessary.
- Collate any non-sensitive research notes here under issue, and create a separate document in our protected Research Drive if necessary
- Gather insights on how and when the Leuven scale & SDQ are used, and if it's already used at all within refugee contexts
- Gather insights on existing software that may be used to record these metrics
- Gather insights on how reports may be generated using these metrics, and how they can be used for funding campaigns
- Do some analysis and spike how we might be able to integrate these scales / concepts into our own dataset / what we collect. How can we start collecting these measurable mental health scales and themes in a way that gives flexibility but isn't too open to manage in the meantime?
- Share learnings with DML team and decide on next steps
