Describe the feature or problem you'd like to solve

There is the allow-all command which is great but a little too risky but also, I don't want to constantly be looking at the CLI, so you could make it customizable. For example, I could allow everything to run except deleting or maybe moving files but creating and moving files could be fine.

Proposed solution

This would be a command or something that would allow you to tell copilot what actions would work and not and then it would make sure to clarify.

This is already supported via --allow-tool and --deny-tool. You can combine patterns like shell(git:*), write, or MyMCP(tool) to pre-approve broad categories while still blocking specific actions. Deny rules take precedence, so for example --allow-all-tools --deny-tool='shell(rm:*)' lets you allow most tools while still requiring approval for that command pattern. Run copilot help permissions for the full pattern syntax. If this does not cover your use case, please reply with details and we'll take another look.
