* Method 2, the second router is default router mode, but with a different router IP address that is not conflict with 192.168.8.1/24, e.g., 192.168.10.1, then connect the LAN port of GL-MT2500A to the WAN port of the second router.

If the second router is in default router mode connecting the GL-MT2500A LAN to the second routers WAN would not be a recommended way to configure the GL-MT2500A from my point of view

  • The second router is only configured for PPPOE on WAN -> no access
  • The second router gets WAN per integrated DSL modem -> no ethernet WAN port
  • Even if possible: you will not have any internet on your device while configuring it

For a device with no wifi I would expect the user to have a method to connect the device via ethernet. I would recommend connecting a device directly to the LAN port of the GL-MT2500A to configure it.
