Describe the bug

I noticed what appears to be a discrepancy between the number of downloads a modpack receives and the number of downloads attributed to a project included in that modpack. A project was added to a modpack after the modpack had already accumulated a significant number of downloads. Since the project was added, the modpack has gained approximately 70,000 downloads, while the project has gained only around 50,000 downloads. More recently, the modpack received approximately 10,000 downloads over a two-day period following an update, while the project gained only around 5,000 downloads during the same timeframe. My understanding is that downloads generated through modpacks should also be counted for included projects. Based on that, I would expect the project’s download count to be much closer to the number of downloads the modpack received after the project was added. Is this expected behavior (for example due to caching, launcher behavior, delayed attribution, or other factors), or could there be an issue with how downloads are being counted for projects included in modpacks?

Any clarification would be appreciated.

Steps to reproduce

No response

Expected behavior

The mod should get as many downloads as the modpack since it was added.

Additional context

I looked for any duplicate issues, but I don’t really know how to do that.
