Hardbreak added in a markdown list item that is followed by a nested list item

Nested bullet lists are displayed correctly while editing a page in Collectives, but after leaving edit mode and switching to the normal page view, excessive vertical spacing appears between nested list items.
The edit mode and the rendered view therefore look inconsistent.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Open a page in Collectives.
2. Create a nested bullet list, for example:

• Item 1
• Item 2
  • Item 2.1
  • Item 2.2
    • Item 2.2.1
    • Item 2.2.2

3. Save the page or leave edit mode.
4. View the page in normal reading mode.

Expected behavior
The spacing between list items should remain identical (or at least very similar) to the editor view.
Nested lists should appear compact and preserve the visual hierarchy created in the editor.

There's a trailing break in every paragraph in the viewer.

Interestingly this is not the case in read only text file shares.

The Paragraph in the list contain a hard break:

despite no <br> tag in the content:

I wonder if this is due to the line break in the html when the list is followed by a nested list, which does not exist for list items that are not followed by a nested list.

It's indeed due to the line break. The hard break extension turns the line break in

<li>List
<ul ...>
</li>

into a hard break.

Not sure why this does not happen in the rich text editor. I suspect it's simply not seeded from markdown.
