MQTT - Doesn't create unique ID (HomeAssistant)

Describe the bug
Two phones, two people, OpenScale and Open sync
Setup MQTT (to HomeAssistant)
Both sync to the same MQTT ID.
Messed up HA database and graphs etc...

To Reproduce
Just try it.

Expected behavior
These should be separate MQTT instances, so you can have to or more people. They should have a unique ID HA style (but stay the same on reloads, etc).

Additional context
Maybe add a User tag for the ID for phone changed reinstall purposes.

Debug log

I have moved this issue to openScale-sync but I don't use HomeAssistant so what do you propose? What do you mean by seperate MQTT instances?

Thanks. It all gets sent as the same info, it doesn't know what (who) the info relates to so it sees the same message from both devices and thinks they are the same thing There is nothing telling it what it relates to, there is no ID I guess. I'll have a look.

-- I was actually thinking it over and brought out a process. Stay with me... At on-boarding it would be nice to ask to use the backup if available (skipping the make a user etc). Each user we create has a "unique ID" associated with it (with an override too*) so it knows it can merge etc. Now this is sent to this opensync program... This is then sent with the MQTT setups (auto discovery) and the sensor updates.

Maybe that helps for clarification? Ok I might see the problem the user id is not sent with the measurement!?

Ok with the latest dev build the openScale user id will also be sent with the measurment, please try that out.

Unfortunately that not really how HomeAssistant does it, it does most of it through the topics in general.
It would need the HA code redoing.

I'm currently testing my own python code ( a mock sender of weight) as I'm trying to work out how I can get HomeAssistant to add the date into the correct time, HA uses the MQTT timestamp, aka the time it was received, to the database unfortunately. So no true statistics can be used, just the last wait seen.
So leave it for now, until i've figured out what i need to do inside HomeAssitant.

My test code is, not sure it is absolutely correct, I'm creating the timestamp separately, not sure it's needed as still playing and using it trying to get around whatever limitations HA has for this. But hopefully gives you the jist of what it generally needs.

You could probably stick you Kotlin code into copilot as I know a lot seem to do that for HA, as it know HA quite well, and as it what it needs to use the user name/id to create HA compatible code.
