Hi OWA Community,
I’ve been experimenting with a new way to introduce the powerful capabilities of the OWA-EPANET Toolkit 2.3 to both new and experienced users. While our documentation is comprehensive, the sheer technical leap from the original EPA engine to this community-driven toolkit can be a lot to digest.
To help bridge that gap, I’ve created a "Deep Dive" podcast episode that translates our technical milestones into the real-world physical realities they dictate—from the "breathing" of old pipes to the surgical precision of emergency responses.
Why this experiment?
The OWA-EPANET Toolkit isn't just a software update; it’s a fundamental shift in how we model municipal infrastructure. I wanted to highlight the "supercharged" features of version 2.3 in a way that resonates with the physical impact of our code:
Disclaimer: Please be aware that the contents of this podcast are intended as a conceptual overview and may contain descriptions or analogies that are not exactly as they appear or are implemented within the toolkit. For precise technical specifications, users should always consult the official OWA-EPANET Toolkit 2.3: Overview and the original EPANET 2 Users Manual.
Seeking Community Feedback
I believe that as our infrastructure faces unprecedented challenges, the decentralized, open-source work we do here is more vital than ever. My goal with this showcase is to make the "invisible ballet" of water modeling accessible to the next generation of engineers who will be driving these "Formula 1" tools.

I would love to get your thoughts:
Looking forward to your feedback!

Raza Ali
