Summary
The Claude Code CLI shows a short recap when you return to a session after being away for 5+ minutes: a quick summary of what the agent did while you weren't looking. T3 Code has no equivalent, so coming back to a thread means scrolling the trace to work out where things landed.
Why it matters
Running several threads at once and stepping away mid-turn is a big part of why I use T3 Code. The recap is what makes that cheap in the terminal, one line and you're re-oriented. Without it every return is a manual re-read, and it gets worse the more threads you keep going.
Turn-completed notifications help, but they tell you that a turn finished, not what happened.
Current state
This doesn't look like a setting users can flip. Recap is implemented in the CLI's interactive TUI, not in the Agent SDK that T3 Code drives. Grepping the shipped bundle (
app.asar, 0.0.34-nightly.20260819.1133):awaySummaryEnabledappears only as an SDK option schema,"@internal When false, the session recap (shown when you return after being away for 5+ minutes) is disabled. When absent or true, recap is enabled."Nothing reads it.ccrRecapis declared on conversation state and never referenced. So
CLAUDE_CODE_ENABLE_AWAY_SUMMARYandsettings.jsonhave no effect here. It needs T3-side support.Proposal
When a thread has been unfocused for N minutes and one or more turns completed in that window, show a recap marker in the timeline at the point you re-enter: "While you were away: ...", summarizing the turns you missed.
Smallest useful scope
One line on re-entry, generated from the assistant messages since the thread last had focus. No settings, no persistence, no new surface, just the divider in the timeline. A toggle can come later if it turns out to be noisy.
