Embodied impact evaluation failed – Boavizta API returns empty response + no automatic sync

Hello,

I recently installed and configured the GLPI Carbon plugin on my instance.

The plugin is properly installed and configured, and all required fields on the asset page are correctly filled (manufacturer, model, type, etc.). The status indicators in the “Environmental impact” tab are all green.

I am able to successfully retrieve and calculate the energy consumption (usage impact).

However, I am unable to calculate the “Embodied impact”. When I click on “Calculate data” (or when running the automatic action), I consistently get the following error : "Embodied impact evaluation failed."

In the GLPI logs, I can see the following warning:

This seems to indicate that the plugin is able to contact the Boavizta API, but receives an empty or invalid response.

Additional information :

• API connectivity is working (tested with curl from the server → HTTPS OK)
• DNS resolution is working
• SSL certificates are valid

Another issue I noticed :

• The automatic synchronization does not seem to process the embodied impact at all
• Only the electricity consumption (usage impact) is updated automatically

Could you please advise:

• if additional configuration is required for Boavizta integration?
• if specific asset model normalization is required?
• or if this behavior is a known issue?

Embodied impact is calculated by Boaviztapi, then it is normal this fails if usage impacts other than GHG emission fails.

Could you show the complete backtrace of the error from your logs ?

I reproduced a similar issue, but I'm unsure it matches your context. Could you tell if you manually entered impacts in the model of the affected asset (asset's model, tab Carbon, at least one impact with a quality other than "unspecified" ?

Here is the additional feedback after further checks.

• No manual embodied impacts are configured in the asset model Carbon tab.
• The affected asset is fully populated with:
  • Type: Notebook
  • Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
  • Model: Latitude 5530
  • Serial number present
• All environmental requirements shown in GLPI are now green.
• Carbon intensity configuration is now completed as well.
• The asset inventory entry date is filled.

I also verified the Boavizta connectivity from the GLPI server:

• The API is reachable over HTTPS.
• Calling https://api.boavizta.org/v1/server/ returns a valid JSON response.

However, the plugin still fails on embodied impact with the same warning:

• Additional Boavizta configuration does not seem to be missing anymore on my side.
• Specific asset model normalization does not seem to be the main issue here, since the asset is fully populated and the error persists after completing all required fields.
• This now looks more like a plugin/API compatibility issue around the Boavizta response handling, especially in getVersion().

So at this stage, the issue seems reproducible even with a fully compliant asset and a reachable Boavizta API.

Hello, The URL to boaviapi looks suspicious. To my knowledge boavizta does not provide any public instance of the service, you shall setup your own, then api.bovizta.org is abnormal except if you edited the hosts file of the glpi server to a self hosted service.
