Is it possible to calculate the positions of moons around Saturn or Jupiter? I'm curious to know how I might approach calculating a moon transit/eclipse event as viewed from earth, as well as a shadow transit event which might be slight a slightly different observation of the planet/moon as seen from the Sun I presume.
Assuming it's possible, then I'm not sure of all the questions I need to ask to get this working, but I think I need to start with what ephemeris to use, and some example calculations. Any ideas and suggestions very welcome!
