upgrade system, including upgrade to dhcpcd-10.3.2_2. Don't yet reboot.
Disable wifi (probably)
Plug ethernet into home router and the computer

reboot
you'll probably see similar messages or in console. I boot into a shell then start one of my favorite window managers.
Given dhcpcd-10.3.2_1 works, but dhcpcd-10.3.2_2 doesn't (for me), suspicion lies with the changes between those releases.
