Hi.

Thank you for the effort of making the software available for free.
My Problem is, after installing the windows app and starting it, the window stays white. Nothing loads.

I guess you used JS to code this app. I also assume, because it is just 10mb big, it runs like an electron app?
But my other guess is, maybe it uses Edgewebview to reduce file size. Maybe you can say something to this ?

EDIT:
"Native Desktop App (Tauri)". I oversee it. But than again, i guess it use some kind of webview to run the web-App.

Nevertheless, i have no clue why it is not running on my system? Does it need any dependencies ?
The source-code seems to be made to run in also elextron / NW wrappers, or ?

The app doesn't need dependencies. I tried to replicate this on 3 different windows installs with both the .msi and .exe installers, but I didn't have problems on any of them. One of them was a pretty fresh windows install too.

I will add the ability to open inspect element in the 2.4.0 release. If you still get this issue it would help me if you checked if there are any errors and send them here.

If we somehow can't figure this out now, you can always use the webapp at kromacut.com in the meantime.

The v2.40 somehow works ... half:

As you can see the UI seems to be broken. The light / dark skin does not work (only inside the 3d viewer). And the buttons doesnt
have any text. So you dont know what to click.

I think you did not tried your own build on a Windows 10 21H2 machine. No internet updates, no VC-runtime installs. To see if it is really working without any additional OS-updates. Just raw install without internet. My suggestion would be, to do so. Otherwise not all users can use your software. Or they are forced to buy a very new PC (if using Win11).

I knew it ! 😊 I was very sure. Your app seems to use "EBWebView" (Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime). I guess your System uses maybe v146.0.3856.84 ?. The installer (dependencies) can be found here: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2/?form=MA13LH. I would provide a link to it, so other users can see the software needs MS-WebView2. It is around 192mb big (packed, unpacked around 400mb+). Plus your app, around 10mb.

Honestly instead of MS-Edge i would like to use an electron-app, it is smaller. Beside this, not every OS has a MS-WebView2 installed and also not the newest one (if you not run daily windows-updates). But i guess it is not possible with your current development stack. Nevermind. Just wanted to point it out.

I also dont use OrcaSlicer (maybe 1-2% of my time). Mostly i use PrusaSlicer. And OrcaSlicer "sadly" needs also webView2. Mostly for UI stuff. Its off-topic, i like software that runs without dependency-hell 😉.

Ok....it was a little bit detective-work. In the end i made the app COMPLETLY portable. No install need (I think you can just provide the Kromacur.exe file, without a setup.exe or *.msi. Windows automatically generate a com.xxx.xxx. folder into appdata\Local). Also the webView2 is portable. And i figured out, which vers. is the minimum one, that works. Minimum version, to save space. The app itself is 10mb but the MS-WebView2 is 400 to 500 mb. It is just sad, to provide a slick app, but you need a backpack with c.a 500kg heavyness. the min. vers. the people / users need is: 114.0.1823.67.

By the way. Also not very clear. The finished download of the .3mf file should get an info. You could do a pop-up like: The file is saved inside: bla bla....but there is no info about, what happend after hit the button.
