Name of the WebMCP proposal and trademarks

Just curious.

MCP started from Anthropic and donated (transferred) ownership to Agentic AI Foundation, a project under Linux Foundation operates. It looks that the MCP trademark is hold by Linux Foundation, not the W3C.

So, is that okay for both to call the proposal "WebMCP"? Just curious. And is it a good name? as it's not technically an "official" MCP API for browsers but rather a compatibility layer (IIUC).

@myakura, thank you for the question. The webmcp repository is for technical discussion, and this question is a charter consideration. I will transfer this issue to the charter repo.
