Add monthly data release stats/info on front page

WP classic displays stats for monthly releases on the front page (for example "December 2024 Release: 272 edits by 7 contributors and 11 new pathways") but we don't have anything similar on the new site. The closest is the interactive stats graph in the "Share your knowledge" section, which shows total number of pathways and edits.

As per dev meeting discussion, we should add a similar "blurb" or summary somewhere (probably in the in the "Share your knowledge" section) that lists some stats. These could be the same as what we've been posting on classic, or we could add new parameters. Ideas:

• number of new pathways for latest release
• number of edits for latest release
• number of active curators in the last month
• total number of pathways (or human pathways)
• total number of genes/proteins
• total number of unique literature references on pathways
• total number of citations of WP pathways (i.e. https://www.wikipathways.org/browse/citedin.html)

Some of these ideas came from Reactome which has a nice section on their front page with stats for the latest release.

Requirements: This needs to be possible to automate, maybe reading from a combination of files/sources, including some that are manually updated monthly when the data release is checked.

We could expand stats Rmd https://www.wikipathways.org/stats and output summary stats to an .md file.

• number of active curators in the last month: For now (until pathway edits can be collected from GH site), number of monthly curators could be manually entered into a csv similar to pathway and edit counts above, based on manually collected info from https://classic.wikipathways.org/index.php/Special:RecentPathwayChanges.

Latest update: A new "active_author_counts.csv" file was added to _data, this will be manually populated for each release.

Code was added to Stats.rmd to use this file (for number of active authors for latest release), and to calculate number of new pathways for latest release.
