🔒 Security & Privacy | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winUpdate the in-app privacy statement. It no longer matches the app's network use.
Line 513 says that Internet access is used only when the user chooses to download a model. The new Check for updates button also sends a request to
api.github.com. This line now gives users a false privacy statement.
docs/platforms/mobile.mdLine 62 has the same problem: "HTTPS is used only for a model download the user starts."📝 Proposed text fix

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Clear the previous download action when a check fails.
If a check found an update and a later check fails, availableUpdate keeps the earlier release. The UI then shows an error but still offers Download Update for that stale result. Clear availableUpdate when the new check starts or fails.

🩺 Stability & Availability | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Handle browser-launch failures.
If Windows cannot launch a browser, Process.Start can throw out of RelayCommand.Execute. The update action then gives no controlled error and can interrupt the app. Catch the launch error and show a retryable status or the release URL.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Show a user-friendly update-check error.
If the request fails, UpdateStatus displays the raw exception message. Log the technical error and show a short message that tells the user to retry. Based on learnings, UI error handlers should show a generic user-friendly message and log technical details separately.

Adds a user-initiated stable release check to the Android, macOS, and Windows apps. Each app compares its installed version against GitHub's latest stable release; when an update exists, it opens the release page so the user can choose and install the correct platform package. Linux retains its existing release-aware updater.
The app checks use only GitHub release metadata and do not send app, device, transcript, or model data. Platform docs now describe each update path.
