Extension overwrites any updates to markdownlint settings

Upon restart of VSC anyI update I made to the markdownlint settings to ignore the MD034 warning are removed. Looks like the Adobe extension reapplies default markdownlint settings upon every start of VSC?

More context:

Whenever I use an external link in my markdown, MD034 is flagged by markdownlint. The recommended quick fix puts < > around the URL but this will raise issues in our pipeline (No connection adapters were found for '' on line [additional-url="" text="Which components and datasets are added."]). So not an option.

To avoid warnings in my editor, I add the "MD034": false, to the markdownlint extension config.
However, with every new start of VSC this update is not persisted and my assumption is that the Adobe Markdown Authoring extension overwrites the markdownlint config with a default. Am I correct, and how to fix this?
