🕵️ Internet Detective

An OSINT (open-source intelligence) research tool — built with vanilla HTML/CSS/JS, Bootstrap 5 & a Node.js/Express backend — that takes a URL, username, full name or a photo and compiles a clean, categorized research report from publicly available sources. Adds live data (RDAP WHOIS, Wikipedia) with no API key, optional VirusTotal / Shodan / urlscan enrichment and a live Groq web-search finding card via Groq's compound-mini model. Multi-page, TR/EN-ready with one-click language switching.

Bir URL, kullanıcı adı, isim-soyisim veya fotoğraf alıp herkese açık kaynaklardan düzenli, kategorilere ayrılmış bir araştırma raporu derleyen bir OSINT (açık kaynak istihbarat) aracı — vanilla HTML/CSS/JS, Bootstrap 5 ve Node.js/Express arka ucu ile geliştirildi. 📖 About

İnternet Dedektifi ("Internet Detective") is a web app that turns scattered public information into a single, tidy research report. You enter a URL, a username, a full name, or upload a photo, and the app builds a categorized report of ready-to-click links to trusted open sources — website & infrastructure, security intelligence, corporate records, professional & academic profiles, news, reviews and social traces. It also fetches live data with no API key (official RDAP WHOIS records for domains, a Wikipedia summary for people) and, when the optional backend is running, enriches domain reports with VirusTotal, Shodan and urlscan.io. The whole thing is a multi-page site with a landing screen, the detective tool, and About / How-it-works / Contact pages.

Privacy-first, ethical by design. The app only points to publicly available sources — it never collects private, hidden or personal data, and uploaded photos never leave your browser.

• Image & Face — upload a photo and run face-recognition search (PimEyes, FaceCheck.ID, Yandex, Social Catfish) plus reverse image search (TinEye, Bing, Google Images) and verification tools

AI analysis powered by Groq

• Upload a photo and a Groq vision model describes it for OSINT — apparent attributes, visible text/logos/objects — and generates smart search queries (no identity claims; ethical by design)
• Every mode also gets an AI intelligence summary with suggested research angles and queries
• The web-search findings card uses Groq compound-mini to run a live search and display title/URL/snippet evidence inside the app, not as an external redirect
• Keys stay server-side; add GROQ_API_KEY to .env to enable

Live data, no API key required

• RDAP — real-time official domain registry record (registrar, dates, name servers, status)
• Wikipedia — real-time encyclopedic summary with photo for person searches

Optional live API backend (server/)

• A small Node.js + Express server keeps your API keys secret (never sent to the browser)
• Enriches domain reports with VirusTotal reputation, Shodan subdomains and urlscan.io scans
• Works with zero keys too (urlscan, RDAP and Wikipedia need none); paid providers are skipped until you add a key

🚀 Usage

Option A — standalone (no install): Just open index.html in your browser. It runs in "single-file mode" with live RDAP + Wikipedia data.

Option B — with the live-API backend (recommended):

1. Clone the repository

   git clone https://github.com/AlperT-Code/AI-InternetDetective.git
   cd AI-InternetDetective

2. Install backend dependencies (Node.js 18+ required)

   cd server
   npm install

3. Copy the env template and add any keys you have (all optional — empty ones are skipped):

   copy .env.example .env

4. Start it

   npm start

   Then open http://localhost:8788. On Windows you can simply double-click baslat.bat, which installs, starts the server and opens your browser automatically.

Free/keyless sources (RDAP, Wikipedia, urlscan.io) work out of the box; VirusTotal, Shodan, Hunter.io and Have I Been Pwned activate once you add their keys to .env.

🚀 Kullanım

Seçenek A — kurulumsuz (tek dosya): index.html dosyasını tarayıcında aç. "Tek dosya modu"nda canlı RDAP + Wikipedia verisiyle çalışır.

Seçenek B — canlı API arka ucuyla (önerilen):
