About

The San Grotesque font (whose name is inpsired by the family it is designed to replace and the style of that family) is a variable font designed to be metrically compatible with Apple's font San Francisco. It is based on Pretendard Std and Inter and covers the 100-900 range of SF Pro Text but does not have any italics.

Building

Fonts are built automatically by GitHub Actions — take a look in the "Actions" tab for the latest build.

If you want to build fonts manually on your own computer:

  • make build will produce font files.
  • make test will run Fontspector's quality assurance tests.
  • make proof will generate HTML proof files.

The proof files and QA tests are also available automatically via GitHub Actions — look at https://yourname.github.io/your-font-repository-name.
