✨ What is CodeCritter?

CodeCritter is a tiny virtual pet that lives in your VS Code status bar and reacts to everything you do:

• Actively typing → 🐱 Happy
• Typing really fast → ⚡ On Fire (Combo Meter!)
• Just saved → 🤩 Excited (XP gained!)
• Errors in your code → 😰 Struggling
• Fixed all errors → 🧠 Focused
• Idle 3+ minutes → 😑 Bored
• Idle 10+ minutes → 😴 Sleepy
• Hit a milestone/daily goal → 🥳 Celebrating

Click it → it says hi with a motivational message.
Open the Dashboard → see your pet animated in the browser with full stats and customized color themes.

📦 Installation

Option A — VS Code Marketplace (coming soon)

Search for CodeCritter in the Extensions panel (Ctrl+Shift+X) and click Install.

Option B — Install from .vsix

1. Go to the Releases page
2. Download the latest .vsix file
3. In VS Code: Extensions → ··· menu → Install from VSIX…

Option C — Run from source

🗂️ Sidebar Companion View

The CodeCritter now lives permanently in your VS Code Sidebar! No need to keep the dashboard panel open — just drag the CodeCritter icon to your Activity Bar or Explorer.

🐱 Pet Species & 🎩 Wearables

• Species: Change the actual shape of your pet. Choose between an alien, cat, or robot.
• Level-Up Accessories: Earning XP and leveling up now unlocks cosmetic accessories worn by your pet, like sunglasses (Lv 5), a top hat (Lv 10), and a crown (Lv 20)!

🍕 Interactivity

You can now directly interact with your pet!

CodeCritter tracks your coding momentum! If you type rapidly without stopping, your status bar pet catches fire ⚡ 🔥 to cheer you on.

💧 Break Reminders

Avoid burnout. CodeCritter can gently nudge you to take a break after continuous coding (e.g., 45 minutes) with a handy "Snooze" button. Stress-free and disabled by default.

📅 Weekly Monday Review

Start your week right! On Monday mornings, CodeCritter will give you a brief pop-up summarizing your all-time lines typed, files saved, and best streak (like Spotify Wrapped for your code).
