Summary

Prepare release 0.8.0 - a minor bump that ships the OKF conformance + freshness feature set (merged since v0.7.0). No functional code changes in this PR; it's the version/changelog/pin cut.

Changes Made

  • Version 0.7.00.8.0 in Cargo.toml ([workspace.package]), lockfile refreshed for surf-core/surf-cli.
  • Doc pins re-pinned to Connorrmcd6/surface@v0.8.0 in README + docs via scripts/bump-docs-version.sh.
  • CHANGELOG cut: the accumulated Unreleased notes (OKF-conformant hubs, freshness provenance + stable claim IDs, OKF bundles, lint advisories) now sit under ## [0.8.0] - 2026-07-02; [Unreleased] reset; compare links updated.

Why 0.8.0 (not 0.7.1)

The unreleased section is entirely new features, which SemVer treats as a minor bump. This changelog explicitly adheres to SemVer, so a patch would misrepresent the release.

Type

Maintenance (release prep)

Testing

  • cargo fmt --all --check
  • cargo clippy --all-targets --all-features -- -D warnings
  • cargo test --all (252 passed, 0 failed)

Next

Merge this, then tag v0.8.0 on main to publish (binaries ×3 targets, npm @gradient-tools/*, docs sync to surface-site). Do not tag until merged + CI green.
