feat(qualification): hash-only rescue per rank before workload - #12
Conversation
Before any workload intent, rescue exports every remote file's sha256 but carries only result/config/custody/job/summary JSON. verify_export checks the manifest shape, path safety, per-file caps, and binds every round hash the result claims to the export hash. compare() proves absent round files from the host custody inventory bound to result.json. Workload rescue unchanged.

A full-rescue tree with a deleted tensor fell back to custody.json and passed. Hash-only mode now applies only when no round file was rescued; docstring states hashes are host-computed (cross-checked between hosts), not controller-verified.

Do not prune remote rounds that only have a hash-only custody record.
prune_rescued runs rm -rf on remote out/<name> once the custody record passes verify_export. Its docstring requires the exact bytes to be in verified local custody. Since this change, qualification rescues before workload are hash-only. qualify_role calls rescue(role, fresh=True), and launch_action calls runtime.rescue(role) before promotion. Neither record carries tensor bytes.
After promotion, operation() calls self.prune_rescued(role). The bound() predicate still matches a hash-only record, because its manifest covers every remote file and so matches artifact_manifest_sha256. The rank check also passes, because custody["files"] lists every rank path.
As a result, the code deletes the remote qualification states, checkpoints, EF, deltas and traces, and no local copy of those bytes exists. This contradicts retain_all_checkpoints/path_preserving_rescue. The deletion cannot be undone.
Require a full-byte custody record before pruning. Two options:
- Skip pruning for hash-only records.
- Run one full rescue of the qualification rounds before pruning them.

Qualification rescue: before any workload,
out/holds only seed + two qualification rounds, which both hosts prove independently by hash. Rescue now exportshashesmode: the manifest covers every remote file (sha256 + bytes) but only small JSON (result/config/custody/job/summary, each <= 1 MiB) travels. ~54 GB/host becomes a few MB.export OUT ARCHIVE PROFILE hashes; controller selects it when nonetwork_execution_intent phase=workloadwas journaled.verify_export(hashes_only): strict manifest schema (64-hex sha, int bytes), exact carried set, per-file size cap, result.json round claims bound to export hashes (rescue_result_hash_mismatch).network_qualification.compare: rescued bytes when present, else the hostcustody.jsoninventory bound to the exact result.json sha (bounded read, schema-checked).Tests: mismatch, missing rank, malformed/oversized manifest and inventory reject paths, plus a hash-only success fixture.
