Summary

  • New page symdb/ruby.md for enabling autocomplete and search in Ruby applications, modeled on symdb/python.md.
  • Ruby card added to the SymDB language picker partial so it appears alongside Java, Python, and .NET on symdb/_index.md.
  • Beta callout on symdb/_index.md updated from "Python and .NET" to "Python, .NET, and Ruby".
  • Cross-link from enabling/ruby.md to the SymDB overview, matching the existing pattern in enabling/python.md and enabling/java.md.

Status

Draft because the minimum dd-trace-rb version is TBD — the SymDB upload work is on branch symbol-database-upload and has not shipped in a release. Update this and un-draft once the release lands.

Test plan

  • Confirm dd-trace-rb minimum version and replace TBD in symdb/ruby.md
  • Verify the Ruby card renders on symdb/_index.md locally (yarn start)
  • Verify the cross-link from enabling/ruby.md resolves

Add per-language enablement page at symdb/ruby.md modeled on symdb/python.md.
Add Ruby card to the language picker partial. Update the Preview callout on
symdb/_index.md to include Ruby. Cross-link from enabling/ruby.md to the
SymDB overview, matching the pattern used in enabling/python.md and
enabling/java.md.

Minimum dd-trace-rb version is TBD pending the release that ships
DD_SYMBOL_DATABASE_UPLOAD_ENABLED.
