Jenkins In DataONE

There's two instances of Jenkins setup:

Both can be access through the same credentials. The instance running at UCSB was setup (2015-11-17) on Ubuntu 14.04 following the standard process as documented by Jenkins.

Jenkins CLI

The jenkins cli needs JNLP, which is a pita. Configure a static TCP port in Manage Jenkins | Configure Global Security | TCP port for JNLP slave agents. We are using 49431.

  1. Download the client jar

  2. Setup an ssh rsa key, and add it do http://jenkins/me/configure

  3. ssh tunnel to the jenkins host, forwarding ports 8080 and 49431:

    ssh -L8080:localhost:8080 -L49431:localhost:49431 jenkins-1.dataone.org

  4. Go to town:

    java -jar jenkins-cli.jar -i id_jenkins_rsa -s http://localhost:8080/jenkins
