I build practical software — clean interfaces, working automations, and tools that actually get used.
I'm a developer working across web development, IT systems, automation, and AI-powered applications. I like taking an idea from a blank folder to something running: designing the interface, wiring up the APIs, getting it onto a Linux box, then figuring out what I got wrong and fixing it.
Right now that means living somewhere between the frontend and the systems underneath it — Frontend + Backend + Linux + Automation + AI.
I started with the basics of web development and kept pulling on the thread. The way I learn hasn't really changed:
Build it → understand it → break it → fix it → improve it → repeat.
I'm most interested in the space where software meets systems engineering. Not just how to put an interface together, but what's happening behind it — the API, the database, the server, the network.

Web Development — responsive sites, PWAs, React applications, frontend architecture, API integrations, authentication flows.
IT & Systems — desktop and OS troubleshooting, Windows/Linux installs, hardware setup, LAN and IP configuration, printer setup, network diagnostics, system recovery.
Automation — Bash and Python scripts, API-driven workflows, small utilities that save me from doing the same thing twice.
AI & Intelligent Systems — assistant concepts, voice interaction, API-based AI tools, and intelligent automation that's actually connected to something useful.
Backend Engineering — moving past the frontend into how applications are actually structured. Node.js, REST APIs, authentication, PostgreSQL, Redis, data modeling, API design, application security.
Linux & Systems — Linux is now my main environment. Administration, Bash, processes, filesystems, permissions, services, containers, and the networking underneath it all.
AI Assistants — exploring what makes an assistant genuinely useful: tool calling, voice input, memory, context, and connecting it to real workflows instead of just chatting.
Full-Stack Architecture — the end goal is understanding the whole lifecycle, from a click in the browser down to the database and back.

01 — SubTracker · Subscription management platform
A web app for tracking recurring subscriptions and payments, with multi-currency support, auth, guest access, push notifications, and an admin side. Built on Firebase.
JavaScript · HTML · CSS · Firebase → https://subscripti0n-tracker.vercel.app/
02 — Golden Crust Bakeries · Digital bakery platform
A business-focused build exploring how a traditional bakery becomes a full digital workflow — catalog, ordering, customer side, admin side, and the backend behind it.
HTML · CSS · JavaScript · Node.js → https://golden-crust-dave-o-lopers-projects.vercel.app/
03 — OpenJarvis · Personal AI assistant
An experiment in what an assistant looks like when it's wired to real tools — conversation, voice, memory, APIs, and automation rather than just a chat box.
Python · JavaScript · APIs · AI
04 — NOVA-SHIELD · Systems & security concept
A systems-oriented project around monitoring, automation, networking, and security fundamentals, built close to Linux.
Python · Linux · Bash · JavaScript
05 — OverStack · Manual savings tracker (PWA)
A mobile-first savings tracker that deliberately skips bank connections. You log deposits and withdrawals yourself, and the interface shows progress as a rising water level.
JavaScript · HTML · CSS · PWA → https://overstack.kimathicodes.workers.dev/
06 — RydEx · Ride-hailing PWA concept
A ride-hailing concept focused on the architecture and user flows — booking, driver and customer states, location features, maps — rather than just copying a UI.
JavaScript · React · PWA · APIs
07 — The Archive · Reading & study archive
A reading-focused PWA for organizing books, tracking progress, and keeping notes, quotes, journals, and stats in one place.
React · JavaScript · CSS · PWA

Development is only half of my background — I also work hands-on with the machines themselves.
- Support: desktop support, Windows and Linux troubleshooting, OS installs, system recovery, software and printer setup (including network printers), hardware assembly, RAM/CPU/storage installation, general user support.
- Networking: LAN setup, IP configuration, Ethernet cabling, router configuration, network troubleshooting and basic diagnostics.
- Systems: Linux and Windows administration fundamentals, Bash, hardware diagnostics, environment setup.
I learn by building real things, not by collecting tutorials. Every project follows roughly the same loop:
Learn → Experiment → Build → Break → Debug → Understand → Refactor → Document → Repeat
The point isn't to say I "know" a technology. It's to understand why it exists, what problem it solves, and where it fits in a larger system.
A few things I believe:
- Build things that are useful, or at least teach you something.
- Understand what's behind the interface.
- The first version is never the final version.
- Debugging is part of the work, not a failure of it.
- Knowledge only counts once you've applied it to something real.

Becoming a full-stack systems engineer who can own a product end to end — interface, API, database, and the infrastructure it all runs on.

I'm always up for talking about software, IT support, Linux, backend work, automation, AI assistants, open source, or just an interesting engineering problem.
Consistency beats intensity.
Build something. Understand it. Improve it. Then build something better.
