Summary

  • Rename the README to Python Pitfalls: When Simple Code Hides Surprising Behavior.
  • Add the description: “Examining the gap between Python's readable interfaces and the underlying complexity, implicit state, and unexpected behavior they can conceal.”
  • Refine the introduction to distinguish implicit state, surprising semantics, and leaky abstractions without suggesting every pitfall is a shallow interface.
  • Retain John Ousterhout's A Philosophy of Software Design and the discussion of unknown unknowns.

Scope

README.md only. All 52 examples, links, tables, and code remain unchanged. Documentation-only change; no code tests required.
