Shuffle Palace Items

Each normal palace contains exactly one item room. When selected, this shuffles which item is available in this palace with a different palace item, or with a general item if "Mix Overworld and Palace Items" is selected.

Shuffle Overworld Items

Shuffles all of the items available in the overworld with other overworld items (or with a general item if "Mix Overworld and Palace Items" is selected). This includes:

  • 4 caves and the grass tile on the west continent
  • Hammer Cave and the boulder-blocked drop on Death Mountain
  • Water tile, desert tile, and 2 New Kasuto items on the east continent
  • 2 drop tiles on Maze Island

Mix Overworld and Palace Items

Normally palace items will only appear in palaces and non-palace items only outside of palaces. This setting allows all items to be found anywhere.

Include P-Bag Caves in Item Shuffle

Adds the 1 cave in the west and the 2 caves on the east that normally contain P-Bags to the item pool. Those locations can contain any item and 3 P-Bags (2 medium and 1 large) are added to the pool of possible items.

Include Spells in Shuffle

Allows the 8 wizards in town who grant spells to instead grant any item, and adds all 8 spells to the pool of items that can appear in general locations.

Include Sword Techniques in Shuffle

Allows the sword technique teachers in Mido and Darunia to instead grant any item, and adds the Up and Down stabs to the general item pool.

Include Quest Items in Shuffle

Adds Bagu's letter (allowing passage of the Saria moat), the mirror (allowing the spell in Saria), and the water (allowing the spell in Nabooru) to be added to the general pool. An item from the general pool will replace them when you talk to Bagu, check under the table, or check the fountain.

Shuffle Small Items

Replaces each small item (red/blue jar, key, 1-up, or P-Bag) with another random small item. This includes item locations in the shuffle pool and general locations not shuffled that contain small items.

Start With Spell Items

Link starts with the Trophy, Medicine, Child, Water, and Mirror and random small items are added to the item pool to replace the number of those items that were in the shuffle pool.

Shuffle P-Bag Amounts

If selected, each of the 4 P-Bag sizes is assigned a new experience value between +2 and -2 levels of the vanilla value.

Palaces Contain Extra Keys

If selected, all small items in palaces are replaced by keys.

Randomize New Kasuto Jar Requirements

Randomizes the requirement to access the New Kasuto basement from 5 to 7 Magic Containers. If you have insufficient containers, the lady blocking the door will tell you the requirement.

Allow Duplicates of Important Items

After the normal item shuffle is done, this feature will go through the items, and make one copy of each important item, replacing minor items (like P-Bags), as space allows. There can only be as many duplicates as there are minor items to replace.

What is duplicated, in order (and if they are in the pool) is: Glove, Downstab, Fairy, Thunder, Reflect, Magic key, Hammer, Raft, Flute, Jump, Upstab, Boots
